This belt was built and designed by Sarah Thompson Navajo from Prewitt New Mexico. The bear claw items that the Navajo people shy away from. The bear is their brother by tradition and as Ben Begaye asked would you use your brothers finger nails for jewelry. This belt has ten conchos and they are two and three eighths inches by one and one half inches. The conchos each have a large authentic bear claw bezeled and a leaf wrapping it,plus a natural sleeping Beauty piece of turquoise and a small piece of coral.The leather is 43 inches long. The belt has not been worn ,although I punched ho;es in it to fit it to me.This belt in most cases will go through Jean loops. The concho belt is signed sterlingand weighs 310 grams.
